Vessel Slopchest

The Vessel Slopchest module manages the onboard store (slop chest) that provides personal items, consumables, and necessities to crew members during their time on board.

Product Catalog

A configurable product catalog organizes slopchest items into categories -- consumables (toiletries, snacks, beverages, tobacco), uniforms and work clothing, medicines, phone cards, and other personal items. Each product has a defined selling price in the vessel's operating currency. Bonded goods are tracked separately with appropriate duty and tax handling.

Inventory Management

The system tracks stock levels for each item on each vessel. Replenishment orders are generated when stock falls below configured reorder points. Stock receipts are recorded against purchase orders, and disposal records handle write-offs for expired or damaged goods.

Sales & Purchases

Crew purchases can be processed as either credit (deducted from the seafarer's wages at month end or voyage settlement) or cash sales. Each transaction records the item, quantity, price, buyer, and payment method. A slopchest FAQ section helps crew members understand the purchasing process and available items.

Monthly P&L Reporting

The system generates monthly profit and loss statements for each vessel's slopchest operation, comparing revenue from sales against the cost of goods. These reports help fleet managers monitor slopchest profitability and adjust pricing or product mix as needed.
