Seafarers' Employment Agreement

The Seafarers' Employment Agreement (SEA) module digitizes the entire contract lifecycle, from generation through signing to extension and archiving. Contracts are auto-populated with seafarer data, vessel details, wage scales, and terms of engagement.

Wage Components

Each contract contains an itemized wage breakdown with basic salary, overtime, leave pay, fixed overtime allowances, special allowances, seniority pay, and insurance contributions. Multi-currency support handles contracts denominated in USD, EUR, GBP, or other currencies, with automatic exchange rate conversion.

Contract Terms

The system manages contract duration, probationary periods, port of engagement, working hours definitions, union and ITF/CBA declarations, and insurance options. Templates can be configured per vessel type, flag state, and collective bargaining agreement.

Digital Signatures & Approval Workflow

Embedded signature pads allow seafarers to sign contracts digitally directly within the system. A multi-level approval workflow routes contracts through the appropriate managers before final execution. The complete signature chain is recorded with timestamps for audit purposes.

Certificate of Employment (CoE)

At contract completion, E-CMS generates Certificates of Employment that can be extended for additional service periods. Each CoE includes a QR code that links to a public validation endpoint, allowing third parties to verify the authenticity of the certificate without requiring system access.

Contract Printing & Archiving

Finalized contracts can be printed in standard formats compliant with MLC 2006 Appendix requirements. All contracts are archived digitally with full version history, ensuring a complete audit trail is available for inspections.
