Rest Hours Record

STCW work/rest hour compliance logging with automatic violation detection -- 10h/24h and 77h/7-day minimums.

The Rest Hours Record module ensures compliance with STCW 2010 Manila amendments and MLC 2006 work/rest hour regulations, which are among the most frequently inspected items during Port State Control examinations.

Compliance Rules

The system enforces the STCW minimum rest hour requirements: a minimum of 10 hours of rest in any 24-hour period (which may be divided into no more than two periods, one of which must be at least 6 hours), and a minimum of 77 hours of rest in any 7-day period. Violations are detected automatically as hours are entered.

Hours Entry

Crew members record their work and rest hours through an intuitive daily entry interface. Bulk entry functionality allows watchkeeping patterns to be applied across multiple days, reducing repetitive data entry for crew on regular watch schedules.

Violation Detection

The system continuously calculates rolling 24-hour and 7-day rest hour totals. When a violation is detected -- or when a planned schedule would result in a violation -- the system alerts both the crew member and shore-based management. A fatigue management dashboard provides fleet-wide visibility into rest hour compliance across all vessels.

PSC Inspection Readiness

Rest hour reports can be generated in the standard format expected by Port State Control inspectors. Historical records are maintained for the full retention period required by regulation, ensuring your vessels are always prepared for inspection.
